what do I have to lose? Now I know the answer: 99 cents. It failed to covert each of the 8 VOB files I dropped in it, after taking a long time to decide that it couldn’t convert them. So, actually, let me amend my first statement. I lost 99 cents and a good 45 minutes.

Easy to use, but everything comes out horribly compressed. Am I doing something wrong? Ive tried all the settings I can see...

Ive been trying to convert swf files to mov files but this software just doesnt do it: I cant find where the converted files are saved to. What am I doing wrong here?

I have a client who wanted a FLV video but QuickTime Pro will not export that format. I searched high and low, and wasted time with shareware until I thought, "Why dont I check the Mac App Store?" Sure enough, MovieConverter did the trick. It didnt have the exact resolution I was looking for, and it does not give options to crop or letterbox, so the picture was slightly stretched in my final. Allowing users to type in output dimensions would be a big plus in a future version. Also, having the bitrate top out at 1000 kbps is not sufficent for anything other than web videos. Fortunately thats what I needed. Ten bucks and my problem is solved!

I hardly compain but this apps is real bad, sad cant get it in trail before waste my money, I use now turbo.264 hd.

I have a .vob file from a video that someone burned for me that originated from a VHS tape used in a camcorder. Thus, I needed to convert the VOB file to a .mov or some other file so I could import it into iMovie. The description says that the app supports VOB...but it doesnt allow VOB to be the input file. So....the advertising is misleading. Booooo! Im asking for my money back.

I bought this application for the single purpose of converting MP4 files to FLV files. I wanted to keep the same quality as my originals, so I left all settings at "same as source." The output looked atrocious — like a JPG photo with compression set to maximum (poorest quality). The Bit Rate of my MP4 source file was 3000, and as stated, I left it set to "same as source". When I checked the settings under the "Bit Rate:" menu, I saw that it only goes up to 1000. I re-converted the file, changing the Bit Rate to the 1000 max. The quality did improve dramatically, but still contained compression artifacts that were not acceptable for my needs. My source files dimensions were 720x405 resolution. I suspect that a lower resolution file may compress better at a Bit Rate of 1000. If you are a non-professional user, converting low resolution movies, this application may fit your needs. However, if you are discerning about quality, or if your files are larger than 640x480 in resolution, this application may not be sufficient. NOTE: I only testing exporting MP4 files to FLV files, so my results may not reflect results of conversion between other file formats.

I just bought the movie converter and i am trying to convert an SWF file to an MP$. its not working and i cant see why. the description of the app sayds that it does! help?

What a waste of money. Needed to convert swf to flv. Every file that gets "converted" is 20kb and does not play. I want my money back!!!!!

I should have just set a $10 bill ablaze... what a worthless, P.O.S. this thing is! Dont waste your money... Im looking to see if I can get a refund! Absolutely useless!

Unnamed unexplained error. I hope this gets fixed as I did pay 9.99 for the app and will never be able to use it for my purposes!

I have been frantically searching for a converter that could do .mov to .swf for a web project. This was perfect.

can I get a refund. It was not able to convert my MXF files to MOV files. IT says it succesfulll converted but then only plays 1 frame of the video. LAME

Ive only used it a few times so far, but it worked on the files that my other apps wouldnt. So, that earns high marks from me so far. Everything worked great.

does not convert .swf as promised. There is no support: the link to support links…back to the app store. How can i get a refund?

Save your $10 bucks, folks. I have a .vob file, which this app claims to support, and have attempted to convert it to just about every format available. It converts, but not to anything that will play. Every single conversion, when I try to view, says it is an unsupported format. I thought maybe the file was corrupted, but was able to convert with no problem using my old busted PC and Nero software. There is probably a work-around, but it isnt worth the trouble.

This app does NOT WORK for converting vob files. DO NOT PURCHASE!

VOB flies worked fine for me, but it will only do one at a time.

Works perfect for converting MPG to MOV. So simple and fast.
